The females in Skins are portrayed as sex symbols toward the males. They wear short clothing or just towels wrapped around them. In Episode one the woman was in the window naked and knew the young man was looking at her from his window but, kept on trying to find her something to wear that day. Then, in episode three everyone expects the private all girls school to behave with manners, mature, and not to wear clothes that expose majority of their body parts. However, when one of the girl throws a party at her mothers house its a totally different attitude and way they act when boys are around and liquor comes into play.
All the females in Skins act a certain way with their character. The school girls that go to the all girls school have to act innocence and not expose their body like the other characters. Then, the girls that go to the public school can wear anything they want too and not care what anyone tells them. However, the older female characters u would think be mature and expect more from them but thats not the case. Their characters dress the same way as the younger female characters and try to get the younger men. Finally, in the last episode of Skins the married woman was looking for the young man to be looking out of his window to see her naked body, (where she had already got up out the bed from her husband) and start getting dress that morning but, he wasnt up.

On "Skins", the visual components took gender and put emphasis on the different roles as if society would have done. The men were alpha males and the women were sex symbols. Tony's character was an example of a true alpha male. He had the looks, the girls, the drugs, and the popularity. Basically, he is the typical "badass".

His girlfriend, Michelle, was portrayed as a fantasy girl. She had the long hair, pretty face, nice body, and sex appeal. She was a sex symbol, every man's dream girl. The other girls had the same qualities as well. They wore revealing clothes and portrayed the image of being innocent, knowing that they were sexual creatures in a man's mind.

After veiwing this episode, I've realized that the gender roles are very similar to the roles in reality. The men have power and the women are used to please the men in power. In my opinion, this show is very sexes, but exposes the truth about the gender roles in real life.

The females in Skins portrayed themselves as sex symbols. They did not have respect for their bodies and were willing to do whatever the males wanted them to. The way females are portrayed in Skins is different from the stereotypes people in society put on how females are really suppose to act.

The females in Skins wore very revealing clothing. They dressed very sexually. Even though they dressed very sexually, they still looked like your average innocent American teenage females. All of them had a very small shape with long hair with an innocent look.

The behavior of the females was very wild and irratic. They showed public display of affection with their boyfriends. The girl with the most irratic behavior was Michelle. She did not have much respect for her body and let her boyfriend kiss and touch on her in publice. The other girls were a little more conservative than she was.

Females should cherish their bodies and have respect for themselves. Young females in today's society should look at this show and learn that this is behavior that is not acceptable. Older females should set examples for younger females and teach them how to behave properly.

The show, “Skins” actually portrays some real life gender roles and issues that younger adults deal with more than mature adults. This show is mostly about sex and drugs but it is also about being true to yourself. Everyone knows that when you’re young you experiment with certain element. This show basically explains the elements that young adults deal with. “Skins” is extremely degrading to women because it shows women as sex symbols or sex toys.

In “Episode 1:1”, an older lady actually wanted Tony to see her naked. She saw him looking at her and seemed to actually like it. Also in “Episode 1:2”, Sid went to the drug dealer’s house, where there were prostitutes, I would say, and pictures of naked women painted on the wall. Also the women are seen wearing short dresses, skirts, and lingerie. This portrays women as sex toys and symbols and it also says that women like men to look at them naked and admire their bodies. Also women were portrayed as being weak, dependent, and having low self-esteem. The teacher was portrayed as being weak and seeming dependent upon a lost love. Cassie, in “Episode 1:4”, was portrayed as being weak, and having low self-esteem because she knew they wanted her to sleep with Sid and she has some type of eating disorder.

All female characters are not expected to act the same way because the black girl in the show did not want to help Tony out by sleeping with Sid. She seems to have a totally different demeanor than the other girls on the show. In “Episode 1:1”, when Tony even asked the black girl, he knew the answer already; it was sort of a joke for him to ask her. The females that dress the part or the females that are weak minded can easily be tricked in to acting the part of a sex symbol or toy. They can easily be both like Tony’s girlfriend.

Tony’s girlfriend knows that Sid has feelings for her and she thinks that he is sweet but she rather be with Tony. Why? Is it his popularity, bad ass attitude, his looks, or the sex? Yes, Sid is currently a virgin but it doesn’t take an expert to figure out sex, besides she seems to be experienced. If she told Cassie that information, she probably has feeling for Sid but she can’t be true to herself because she is blinded by love which she knows Tony doesn’t love her like she loves him.

This show is stereotypically of women and men roles. Yes, it does discuss the important issues that young adults deal with but just because a girl wears a short skirt or dress doesn’t mean she is giving up her goodies to any and everybody. She might want someone or people to look at her but she doesn’t want to feel like she shouldn’t wear what she likes because of what people might think. I would suggest that teenage girls watch this show because it shows girls how the world portrays us as women and it could possible change young girls’ demeanors and allow them to disprove the negative stereotypes about women.

The setting and scenery in the video clip depict and revolve around incongruous adolescent fantasy. The scenes of the show, brandishes a humongous amount of obscene scenrios. Going by the scenes in the show, it seems the objective of the show is to explore and showcase a lot more erotic love than philia love. From every observable evidence, the show went through insightive and innovative measures to brandish nudity to the highest extent both in offensive and in spurious ways; an example of where nudity was depicted in a spurious form is the scene having a bedding containing nude human designs.
The characters are mostly vibrant, perfunctory, and effervescent adolescents. Most of the key characters are young and attractive. Though the show depicts a vast presence of races; most of the races present are caucasian. The british origin of the show can easily be observed by the accent of most of the characters and the set. Telling by some of the scenes; some of the characters are very energetic and carefree; for example, the scene that shows when the Mercedes sank, goes on to show how they characters were able to save themselves without incedent. And at end rather than to reflect on all the abnormalities that they had expirienced, the boys were still hooked up on the quagmire consiging virginity.
The characters share a weird sense of sexual orientation. Both the boys and the girls were very conceding on matters related to erotic love. The boys mostly visualized themselves as seekers. While the girls mostly displayed bouyant characters and attitudes. Both genders seemed to demonstrate very high tolerance for each other, although the males seemed to have a some-what ulterior motive towards the girls. On the over-all both genders seemed to be going through a faze of ingenuity.

Females are portrayed in several ways in the clips of Skin. They are portrayed as girlfriends/lovers, sluts, whores, eccentric, sex symbols, and smart and sneaky. Tony's girlfriend Michelle is portrayed as his lover. She can also be portrayed as a slut because she throws herself all over Tony in public by kissing and grabbing on him. Michelle also dresses as a whore. SHe wears short and tight clothing all the time. Michelle can also be considered as sneaky because she set Cassie, her friend, up to have sex with Sid.
Cassie, on the other hand, is considered as eccentric and a whore. Cassie sleeps with anyone and overdoses on her medications. She is also mentally unstable. She also has a eating disorder. Cassie can also be considered as foolish because she hangs with people who takes advantage of her.
Abigail Stock, the girl that threw the party, is considered as sneaky. Abigail threw a party while her parents were away. However, she can also be portrayed as smart because she goes to a private school that's very stict. SHe can also be considered as a sex symbol because she flirts with Tony several times and her clothing is short and tight.
There are different expectations for the different women in the clips. For example,Tony cares for and respects Michelle. He goes places with her and doesn't try to set her up on no blind date. Her expectations are not as low as Cassie. Cassie expectations are very low. She will have sex with anyone. By Cassie having sex with anyone noone expects her to ever be someone's girlfriend, just a sex mate.
The women in Skins are portrayed as sneaky, girlfriends/lovers, sluts, whores, eccentric, sex symbols, and smart and sneaky. However, the way women carry themseleves and their actions make a reputation for them. The reputation could either be good or bad.

“Skins” is a television series portraying the complicated world of upper-middle class teenagers. Together the teens are going through their final years of adolescent. Both teens and adults take on various simulated sexual acts, drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes, and use drugs. It implements the roles of young male and female in reality. The males were dominant and self-important and the females were sex symbols. The characters in the episode showed the same interest as most teens today. The males’ characters were particularly interested in drugs, sex, and are very aggressive.
The show has plenty of talk about sex and virginity and contains nudity. The morning started off with Tony, a teenage boy, waking up and looking at his naked neighbor across the street through the window. Next, he gets on his phone and starts making calls so his friend, Sid, could lose his virginity that night. He specifically says to Sid, “If you don’t lose your virginity before you make eighteen, you cannot be my friend anymore.” The show shows real-life situations experienced by teens of today. You’re able to observe the intense peer pressure that’s placed on teens and the things they do to make friends and fit in.
Drugs such as pills and marijuana are both expected and accepted as parts of their daily lives. Tony has a plan to use drugs to make a profit. Sid goes get a pack of marijuana and they expect to sell it to other teens. Yet, this is just part of the plot to catch the attention and entice the viewers. The characters in the episode have few consequences. You don’t believe that they'd get caught and in due course be taught a lesson.
The males are revealed as ruff and aggressive. The males swear and curse constantly. The father swears repeatedly in the morning at home and the young teens swear back and forward with their friends. Furthermore, the boys that came late to the party get out of control. They begin running and jumping around, breaking more stuff, and start a fight. The majority of the males are depicted from the idea stereotypes of men today.
The males tend to focus on sex, drugs, and being manly. Yet, each male character is well distinguished from each other. For those males who are not living up to the expectations it seems as if they are under more pressure to fit in. For example, Sid is more likely to do things he doesn’t want in order to feel part of the group. But the teens remain close and loyal to their friendship.

While watching Skins i realized that it portrays gender in a way that our society tends to portray it. Men uphold the stereotype of being dominant and females are basically looked at as sex symbols. The women act like whores and do anything to please men.
Men only care about being a stereotypical dominant male. Their interests are centered around sex and drugs. Men who are not upholding this way of life are pressured into being more like the other men around them.
Although, you'd expect the adults to show more maturity and be better than the teenagers, that is not the case. The adults are just as bad if not worse. I say that because of the woman in episode one that expectedd the younger man to be peeping through her window.

In Skins females are depicted in a negative way. In this particular episode they come off as weak, tractable and sneaky. Most of all, their greatest role seems to be as a sex symbol to the males. You would think that surely all of the female characters cannot fall into this role but they do.

In the public school even the school teacher fit into this category. Instead of being this strong role model figure, she was quite the opposite. She speaks to the students as if she doesn’t want to direct them or give them orders but let them make the decisions and rules. That is not the worst part, a student in her class flirts with her and instead of correcting this behavior she continues to let it go on. As if she seems to secretly like him herself.

Now in the private school the females are expected to be prestigious and ethical. They are to dress properly and neatly. Outside of school they do the complete opposite. Instead of being virtuous they are very much indecent in how they talk, act and dress. They wear skimpy, tight and revealing clothes. They do not seem to act lady like at all. For instance, in one part of Skins one of the girls from the private school throws a party. At the party they drink alcohol and carry on in inappropriate behavior. At one point one girl even took off her shirt, who does that.

The most disappointing part is that females in this episode seemed to be just property for the males to take advantage of. Countless of times during this episode Tony and his girlfriend, Michelle, showed inappropriate public displays of affection. By Michelle feeling upon her boyfriend, not only did she show indecency for him but for herself. If he is able to get her to do raffish things like that in public that means that she do not have any respect for herself or care what other people think of her.

The ironic part of this show is that this is Skins’ stereotype of how females should act, which very much contradicts societies’ stereotype for women. Females need to take from this show that you shouldn’t have to degrade yourself for anything. If you do not respect yourself no one else will. If you have to disgrace yourself to feel loved or appreciated then you truly do not know what the genuine nature of love is.

On the Skins both the younger and older females depicted on this show display the same behaviors that are expected of women. Usually, older females act more mature and set the right examples for young females to follow, but in the Skins this was not the case. Majority of the females on Skins were constantly concerned about sex or the idea of it. To make the matter worse, the older females were also interested in getting the younger men as well. Furthermore, not only were the women concerned with sex, but they were treated like sex objects by the men with no respect.

In the first episode of the Skins, all the females dressed in revealing outfits except for the one’s that went to the all-girls private school. However, once they were behind closed doors they too began to wild out and wear more revealing clothes. The girls who attended the all-girls school were expected to be the innocent, reserved, and dress appropriate. The girls who went to public school could act and dress however that wanted. On top of that, the older females dressed as skimpy as the younger ones. They wore lingerie, tight fitting blouses that revealed their bosom, and so on. As the show begins the viewer would think that the older females would show a better choice of clothing but they are as bad as the young females.

In addition, the older women not only share the same choice of style but also the same attitude and behavior. For example, when Tony and his friends are in school, one of his friends shows quite a bit of interest in their psychology teacher as well as the teacher for Tony’s friend. In this scene the teacher is also wearing a revealing blouse that catches Tony’s friend attention as well. Instead of correcting this problem, the teacher kind of puts it to the side but secretly watches him in the form of a lover. Next, Michelle, Tony’s girlfriend is one of the biggest sex symbols in this episode. Michelle fits the character of how females are portrayed in the Skins completely. She is beautiful, wears tight and skimpy clothes, has long hair, and her main concern is revolved around sex and pleasing Tony. A few times throughout the show Michelle exhibited open displays of affection with Tony in public. Michelle lowers the respect she has for herself by allowing Tony to do as he pleases and by complying with it.

The men in Skins use vulgar language and treat the women like they are nothing more than sex symbols or object. It never failed that in most the conversations that were between a male and a female that the idea of sex would come up. Many of the males in the Skins often expected the females to comply with what they wanted and didn’t really care about how they felt. They just saw women as mainly sex objects to please them. Sadly, throughout this show there was only one male out of majority of the men who treated females with more of the dignity and respect they deserved.

Even though women are often seen as companions for males, that does not mean they should be treated as objects to please men. The Skins portrays the perfect example of how females should not act and be treated. Older women should teach young ladies how to dress appropriately and carry themselves unlike the women in Skins. Likewise, young ladies should not just give into the expectation of others especially those that believe females only primary role are as sex objects or symbols. As young ladies, they are more than that and should be treated accordingly.

People have their own perception the way a female character is suppose behave. Overall society has placed a female character to be mentally physically weak. Female characteristics are loving, compassionate, and full of emotions. Due to these characteristics of a female, the society and especially males feel females are biologically weak. They assume a female cannot hold a higher position as assertive as a male character can. In the new MTV series Skins, the female character is portrayed in various ways and similar to societies perception. The views of female characters are expected behave the same in some ways, but different expectations of kinds of women.

The series Skins portrays females in similar ways as society perceives them, but shows it in a different way. The series Skins specifically targets the teenage audience. For instance it schedule late in the night right after the reality show Jersey Shore. During the stage of adolescence teenagers are more influenced and experiment with different things. In this age a female teenager is likely to experiment with the opposite sex. The creators portray the female characteristics to be weak for the male gender. For example, when the boy starts to audition for the choir all the girls were attracted to him. When a male can sing females feel they have a soft side. A female connects with the male more because “soft” is a characteristic of a female. Another example a female role is portrayed in Skins that they are easily emotional. The student starts reading an excerpt with words like depression, unbearable, emotional losses and the female professor starts crying. The words are a perceived to be a target to make a female cry.

In many cultures the female character are expected to behave the same way, but to an extent. In Skins the female character is portrayed to behave sexually all the time with the male figure. Not all females in different cultures are sexually with a male each time she sees one. At times in cultures females only have sex with the male gender just to conceive a child. The ability for them to bear a only bear a child shows why they are biologically weak. Also in different cultures the female character takes the role as a male like being assertive and a provider of the family. The all female characters are not expected to behave the same, but many people believe they all behave the same overall.

Not only people view the female character to behave the same way they view the female character to act different depending on the type of women. For example the male race may perceive a woman who has a skinny body to be more outgoing and flirtatious with a male. On the other hand a male may perceive a woman that is overweight to be timid and less confident. Society generally expects a female to have a skinny body and shun the one who are overweight. They are different expectations for different types of female. Not all females have the same personality and characteristics.

People will always have their own perception of the way female characters are suppose to behave. They are view to be loving, compassionate, and easily emotional. In the series Skins the female character are portrayed to be similar to societies perception, weak. They portray a female to be easily emotional and to fall for the opposite sex that has a “soft” side. A female character is expected to behave the same way. Shows like Skins falsely sterotype the female character which people believe in the weak trait of a female. Though society expected females to behave the same, they look for them to behave different.

I would first like to say this British version of SKINS is definitely not my favorite. The overall mannerisms of the characters are very obnoxious and annoying. But the storyline is practically the same. A group of teenagers on drugs and addicted to sex.
There are some obvious gender roles in SKINS. The women seem to be very longing for sexual satisfaction, drugs, and partying. In the beginning, the main character would wake up every morning to watch his neighbor as she undressed in the window. The lady knew that the guy was watching and she continued to put on a show for him. Also, in the beginning the guy’s sister was trying to sneak back home early in the morning meaning that she was out all night. Also in this episode when the main character’s friend went to the drug dealer’s house, he encountered two prostitutes. But there does seem to be different expectation for different women though. For example, the mother in the show seemed to be a very well rounded woman. I’m sure the teacher is upheld to certain standards as well but she clearly does not follow them just from her having a break down in front of her students for practically nothing. Also for having an outside relationship with one of her students.
The gender role for men in this series is also very sexually oriented. The male must constantly be in pursuit of a female. For example the main character’s best friend’s goal for his 18th birthday was to lose his virginity. If he didn’t his friend joked about befriending him. At school, the character named Chris is after his teacher, and she is just as interested as he is.
There are apparently homosexuals on the show as well, but there was not much on them. But once again the concerns of males are finding mates and doing drugs. There did not seem to be any consequences for not living up to the standards though. Everyone just seemed to do what they wanted without being bothered by the police or by parental figures.
In closing I would like to discuss how visual components that contribute to gender relationships on the show. Most of the females on the show wore skirts and tight tops. The main character wears slacks and a sweater. Most boys on the show wear pants and some sort of shirt. But at the end of the episode I found it interesting that the main character had on the same pattern shirt and his girlfriend’s dress.

Skins is a British sitcom that portrays the everyday life of a teenager in high school. The show is mostly about how teens interact with the opposite sex and how they will do almost anything to have a good time. The females in this show are depicted as weak, mindless creatures who will do anything that a male asks of them. Although the characters my differ, the general way that the show portrays them does not, every female character is depicted as a sex object with no brain.

In the show skins every teenage girl is ill mannered and wears revealing clothing at all times, except for the girls in private school, but when they get behind closed doors all of this changes. In the first episode Tony visits an all girls school to audition for a male part in their choir. While he is auditioning every girl in the choir crowds around him and watches him in a trance as if they have never seen a male before. He is invited to house party by a girl named Abigail, and when he arrives at the party the private school girls are shown in a whole new light. Instead of wearing loose fitting, appropriate clothing like they did at school the girls are all wearing skimpy dresses and skirts that show off all of their assets. They are also drinking and dancing on all of the boys in the party. This would lead one to believe that there are really no respectable young women and that they are all putting on a united front when in actuality that is not the case.

The older women in the show are also portrayed as sex objects who are seeking attention from men of all ages. In the first episode Tony is shown going through his daily routine. When he wakes up in the morning the first thing that he does is pull his curtains back and wait for his female neighbor to walk across her window naked. It is later revealed that the nearly 40 year old woman is fully aware that Tony is watching her and she purposely wakes up early just so that he can see her. This show makes it seem as if women of all ages are dying for attention, and that they will do anything to have a man look their way. She seems to find satisfaction in knowing that Tony wants to see her naked when in actuality she shouldn't even be looking at a boy his age in a sexual manner.

The thing that is most shocking about this show is the way that the women are treated by the male characters in the show. In a scene from the first episode Tony calls a girl and asks her to help him break his best friend Syd's virginity, and without hesitation she obliges. She even finds someone for Syd to sleep with that same night. In every conversation between males in females in this show, the topic of sex always comes up. If the man is not asking her to have sex, he is trying to get close enough to her so that he can. The men see the women as nothing but mere sex objects and they only talk to them for that reason only.

The show skins portrays a very unrealistic stereotype of the average woman. In this show every female dresses revealing, seeks attention from males, and is submissive at all times. The show does not portray women as man's equal but as an object that they should only use to have sex. I believe that this show should be taken off of the air because it is sending the wrong message to teens about how they should interact with the opposite sex.

Sinks portrayed some real specific gender roles. The use has and England setting, uses vulgar langue, and is centered on school, drugs, and sex. The characters in Skins are young high students who basically do what they want, when they want, and how they want. With no responsibilities the characters in this show seem to act out and be carless about life. The woman are being portrayed as classic whores, they may look like they are innocent but in reality are not.
The women in Skin’s are “good girls gone bad.” For example, in the first episode the females comes home late and gets her brother to distract their father so she can sneak in and get ready for school. This had to be something that they do all the time because it was done without even thinking about it. The girl looks as if she had a rough night, sex may have been involved with someone who disses her when it was over. Also, in this episode, Tony stares at the naked girl that lives across the street; she knows that he is staring but does nothing to prevent that. Most girl would have covered up or closed the curtain but she didn’t.
Moreover in part 2/5 Tony’s have a meeting with Sid about sex. He sets Sid up on a sex date because he is still a virgin and Tony’s feels that it’s time for Sid to break his virginity. Sid goes to the home of several women who are ready and willing to have sex. As he waits you can hear the moan and screams of these women. This is the prime example of how this show is degrading woman making them look like whores.
Additionally the French girl in 4/5 threw herself on one of the guys the crashed the party. In front of everyone she took her shirt off and started making out with him. Even when they were taking Cassie to the emergency room they were making out in the back seat. This girl has no idea of who this guy is; she was turned on just because he punched someone.
Lastly, the women in Skins are being portrayed badly. This show is for mature audiences who know this is not reality. All of the women in this show are either portrayed as whores, special (Cassie), or emotional (teacher). Therefore there are different expectations on the women in the show but for the most part they are all about sex. Even though in some ways the men brought about the sexual favor the woman did as well.

In the show Skins, women are shown in a negative manner. They are portrayed as sneaky and weak. They are also depicted as whores in this episode. Even though all women are not like that, this show makes that generalization.
One character who is considered sneaky is Abigal Stock, who is the girl that threw the party. She threw the party while her parents were away, knowing that they would not approve. She also had the cunning to pull it off without getting caught. Just by being able to pull off something of this magnitude shows how deceiving she is.
Females are shown to be weak and submissive all through the show. The female teacher at the school seems to be so timid. She acts as if she is scared to direct them. She is not being like the typical stern male figure. This not only goes for the teacher but for all of the women on the show.
The most obvious thing noticed while watching the show is how they portray women as sex whores. All the females wear revealing clothing that is not age appropriate. They also did whorish things in public like having guys make out with them and groping them, specifically Michelle. All this behavior is far from befitting a lady but it screams whore.
The show overall does not show women in a good light. For what reason, I do not know. This should be the blueprint for all women to know what not to be like if they want to be treated right. Acting like the females in this show would never produce a good relationship with any man.

Skin is a British sitcom focusing around teenage kids. On Skins the overall concern of the males are drugs, sex, and friends. Honestly, in reality as a teenager, this is what many people think about. Then when you don’t live up to this way of living, you’re talked about and joke around with.

The first few episodes of Skins, the characters are trying to devise a plan to get one of their friends to lose their virginity. Instead of the gentleman approach, they devise a plan that deals with drugs. This is honestly what a lot of males do in reality. Then the friend is teased because he still is a virgin. In my high school that was a big thing. If you were a virgin in the 11th grade then you was the main topic of everyone conversation.

The first episode of Skins the main character is watching his neighbor undress, and watched as she is nude in her window. In the forth episode, the drugged girls flats out tells him, when are they going to have sex. Then entire season is around sex appeal. The woman wears revealing clothes and has the stereotypical perfect body. The main character that is a virgin is supposed to have sex with the girl while she is drugged up. If he doesn’t, then he made be talked about to his friends even more.

On Skins there really aren’t enemies. The main focus is on sex, and not drama. That’s where the reality difference is. In reality, in high school there is so much he says, she says. But, everyone is friends on Skins. The main character is helping his friend out lose his virginity. The last episode, when the drugged girl passes out, they rush her to the ambulance. Truly, because of her purpose on the show, if they happened in reality, she may have stayed there.

In conclusion, although Skins is about the stereotypical teenage life, this is not how our younger generation should live. It’s sad that when someone is living the right way, society downgrades them. No one should try and live there life likes this show, at the end of the day it’s just a sitcom.

The show “Skins” seems to be about the life of modern youths or young adults in Britain. The question about the concerns of the male character seems to be and what are the consequences for not living up to gender expectation is practically Ego and the consequences are lose of friendship.

One of the strong masculine traits common to all the males is practicality; ego. Anthony the ladies’ man seems to be the leader of his group of friends. His characters portrayal tries to make him into every young smart kid’s fantasy (girls falling all over you, mingling with social classes higher than ones, etc. He is quick witted (as seen in the little back and forth he had with Mr Griffin at the Girl’s school where he was auditioning for the choir), he has a hot girlfriend (Michelle) and doesn’t treat his dad in a societal approved manner. At the beginning of the first episode when he caused a distraction so his sister could sneak in quietly, he could have turned the volume down sooner but he didn’t. He also locked his dad out of the bathroom.

The show seems not only to show distinctions between members of the same social standings but also of people from several backgrounds. Sid is the Nerd. Alongside Chris, they seem to be the butt of all the clique’s jokes; Sid for his virginity and Chris for his small penis size and love for drugs. Although they seem to be at the bottom of the social strata because of their looks and behaviour, there are various deviations from this trend or pattern. Chris who has a huge crush on Angie; his Psychology Professor stands up for her when she is going through some emotional trauma. Although this show of manliness is immediately followed by gentlemanly carrying her books, it seems sparks her interest in him.

All in all, the show takes the perspective of most male; Being debonair, and with the right display of manliness, you can succeed (which in this case means you could have any girl and all the drugs you want).

Skins is a British TV show about highschool kids that are addicted to sex and drugs. It is set in a very vulgar environment where profanity is used in every sentence and public nudity is accepted. The kids act very rebellious towards their parents, and the adults appear to almost hate their kids. There also seems to be no sexual boundaries between the kids and adults.
In the first part of Episode 1, one of the main characters, Tony, wakes up and immediately starts working out and primping in the mirror. This shows how much appearance matters to him and probably his friends. Next when he heads to the window he sees his female neighbor getting dressed in her window. He stares at her which shows that he knows about sex. It is also a concern because he calls his friend Sid and tells him its time to lose his virginity. They then devise a plan to get a girl full of drugs so Sid can easily have sex with her. They decide on Cassie, which is Michelle's friend. She is very willing even though she wants Tony.

Males can often be viewed as predators, going only after what they can get. In the British teen drama Skins, the male characters are constantly pursing females but only in the interest of their own physical desires. Throughout the show, they are displayed as addicts to their own lust, only being concerned with having sex or contemplating getting sex. Furthermore, the male characters associate masculinity with female relations and they therefore look down on virgin males. It is evident that the males on the show have little to no respect for woman and use them solely for their own pleasure.
Throughout episode one of the series, Tony, a leading male character, is shown as a sex addict. Not only does his sleep with a bed spread containing provocative images, he also surreptitiously looks upon his naked neighbor every morning as she dresses. Though he is in a relationship, he seems to only use his girlfriend for his physical needs. This is evident in their gaudy fondling and his raffish banter about her nipples.
Additionally, episode one of the series revolves around Tony finding a girl for his virgin friend to have sex with. They are constantly contemplating getting sex and they seemed consumed by their infatuation to get females. One scene even shows a group of guy’s intent on going to a gay club in desire of seeing lesbians. In light of this, it is evident that the male characters show no respect in for the women themselves, just off what they can get from them.

Due to the association of masculinity with female relations, Tony does not see Sid, his virgin friend, as masculine being he has not yet been with a female. Tony states that he can no longer associate with Sid unless he sleeps with a female. Thus they plan to find a girl and drug her, just so she will be willing to give herself up and have sex with Sid.

In conclusion, it is safe to state that the male characters in the British teen drama Skins are solely consumed with thoughts of having or getting sex. According to them, a male who is still a virgin is unacceptable and the consequences for not living up to their gender expectations include ridicule and even desertion. Though it is sad to say, the male characters exhibited on Skins are not much different from the males in today’s world.

“Skins” is a show about teens that are obsessed with sex, are more concerned with outer appearances, and the frequent use of drugs. The roles of gender are for more radical than they are in real life. These teens are preppy and a bit pampered; they come from middle class or wealthy families. Thus, it makes them more susceptible of getting away with various things.

At the beginning of the show, Tony got out of bed and immediately began to work out and check himself out in the mirror. Then, he made a few phone calls to his friends and either they were doing something sexual or beautifying themselves. This signifies that the males’ main focus was sex, looks, and popularity and if one did not partake in these things, Sid, then he would no longer be Tony’s friend.

Also while Tony was getting dressed he watched outside of his window to watch his neighbor get dressed as well. She was well aware of him watching and she enjoyed the fact that he did. While doing so his sister was trying her best to get his attention so that he could cause a distraction for her to sneak in the house after being out all night. As the show continued, the girls were portrayed as whores and sex symbols, which is degrading to women and implies that women are only good for a few things.

Furthermore, I noticed that in some scenes the teens were influenced by peer pressure. Although, Sid may have wanted to engage in certain things, it seemed to me as if he was doing it more so to be like Tony or to get Tony’s approval. Also Tony’s girlfriend really loved him but he didn’t love her as much or equally, however, Sid did but she only thought of him as being “sweet.” It was probably because of his image and popularity was more important to her than being genuinely authentic with her true feelings for Sid.

This show uses stereotypical characteristics about fallacious aspects of life that are not really that important. However, being a teenager we generally make things like this our main priorities: looks, sex, and popularity. Thus, this show is very over the top but in some situations it happens to be very realistic and true. “Skins” addresses the things that society is more focused on and in return it makes it even more of a concern with teenagers.

sorry it's late, i've been at work EVERYDAY

As I watched the clips of the British Skins and as an avid watcher of the US Skins, I realized that in each series the concerns of the young males are the same. They are shallow minded young boys. All the males are obsessed with exploiting woman and sex.

They prey on woman throughout the entire episode.First, Tony watches a naked girl from the window of his room. Then, he calls up another girl and calls her "Nips" pertaining to her nipples. Even though he is joking, it is still degrading to women. He is also trying to get her to have sex with his friend, Sid. He then sits with Sid and slobs down his girlfriend Michelle. This makes him look like the ultimate ladies man to all his peers. If he wasn't know for being a ladies man he would probably be seen as a "square" or "lame"

They males in this show are also obsessed with sex. Tony's beadspread depicts a naked woman and male. Sid, his lonely friend is desperate to get laid. He is so obsessed with losing his virginity that he will take any girl that Tony will get for him. He is so pressured to have sex because he sees Tony and he wants to be Tony.

There are many consequences for young males who aren't "Ladies Men" or aren't "Sexually Active". Peer pressure is a horrible consequence of not living up to the gender role of a male. The feel so overwhelmed because they aren't as cool as the next guy that they have sex with anyone, which can cause STDs and STIs of all sorts. They also can be bullied if they don't fit their gender role. Bullying has been linked to many disatrious endings such as Colimbine.

The show Skins in the US and Britian depict teen boys as obsessed with sex and woman. All they want to do is have sex with women and say whatever they want to them. This depiction of young boys can cause real young boys to also feel like they have to be like the actors of Skins. This can be a major problem by causing these boys to be bullied or pressured into doing something they don't want to

As I watched the clips of "skin" I came to the conclusion that the young males in the scenes are usually concerned about woman and their sexual desires. Their only concern seems to be the females physical appearence and things of that nature.

In the show the men show that they are extremely obssessed with sex and could care less about the feelings of the woman. None of the guys want to have a relationship with the women but yet they all want sex. This can lead to the younger boys reacting the same way and causing more and more men to think less of woman and began to treat that as such.

Men should treat woman how ever they woman other men to treat there mother. If you would not want your mother to be treat like the woman in the episodes than men should not go around treating woman as if they are useless. The men make it seem as if the only thing that woman are good for is sex, which is not true. I feel that if things like this continue to happen then the whole society around us will continue to change.

The series, Skins, is a show focusing on teenagers' lives. They make many references to sex, drugs, mental problems, and other issues the average teen can face. There is a stereotype of the boys in the show.

On the show, the boys' main focus was to have sex with girls. The show's main character, Tony, was trying to help his friend, Sid, lose his virginity in the episode. This was the main focus on every male on the show was to have sex. Also, the boys in the show were seen as dominating towards the girls, and the girls were shown to go along with what the boys wanted. For example, Tony got his girlfriend to convince one of her friends to have sex with Sid. I do not feel that Sid wanted to necessarily have sex but I think he felt he had to in order to be more like Tony and to not be the outcast at school.

Skins, I think, tries to portray teenage life, but some of the stereotypes are false. Most teenagers do like to have sex and some like to use drugs. I think, however, that the main aspects of teenage life is left out.
